The story of the church harlequin Some say there was a constructor's funny painting, wich remained uncovered (constructors were allowed to paint for their amusement during the night but they had to cover everything during the day). Others say that a high priest got very upset with the harlequins, banished them from the community punishing them with the burden of supporting the church ceiling forever. Others talk of Till Eulenspiegel, famous for his witty jokes. Legends and stories are plenty, but nobody knows for sure what's the image of a harlequin doing inside the church in Biertan, among the holy pictures. And if you happen to visit the church do remember to look for the mystery harlequin!
